Plagiarism & the Life Cycle of a Frog Lesson
Introduction (Hook): Teacher will introduce students to the life cycle of a frog using a very catchy song and video. (http://www.youtube.com/user/biorhythms?v=jR0EPHyo128&utm_campaign=Listly&utm_medium=list&utm_source=listly)
Teacher will then present the steps of the life cycle of a frog using a teacher-created prezi presentation. (http://prezi.com/wdad_x0fz18e/the-life-cycle-of-a-frog/?utm_campaign=Listly&utm_medium=list&utm_source=listly)
Lesson Activity: Students will play an interactive game that teaches them about the life cycle of a frog. This interactive game starts with a quick video about the life cycle of a frog, then requires the students to use their new knowledge to complete sequence charts of the life cycle of a frog. Before explaining the assessment to the students, the teacher will discuss plagiarism with the students. The students will watch a video about plagiarism (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyLQuiwvcIE), then discuss with the teacher how to cite sources they use or gather from the internet.
Assessment: Students will “research” the life cycle of a frog using a Thinglink Interactive Image created by the teacher. (http://www.thinglink.com/scene/397104694872244224) Using this researched information, students will use www.photopeach.com to create a presentation explaining the steps of the life cycle of a frog. Students will need to use at least three resources of information in their presentation. The students will be required to cite sources used in the presentation. The assessment will be graded with the following rubric.
